The 2026 edition of Artissima, the International Contemporary Art Fair in Turin, Italy’s leading exhibition dedicated exclusively to contemporary art, will be taking place from Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November 2026 (with a VIP preview on Thursday 29 October) at Lingotto Fiere – OVAL in Turin.

The theme of Artissima 2026 - Fancy: A Flexible, Acrobatic Body - originates from an image created by the philosopher Martha C. Nussbaum to assert that the language of art, guided by fancy - the forward projection of the imagination – has a flexible and acrobatic body, capable of poetically navigating complexity and differences and bringing us closer to the variety of those who different from us. Art goes beyond merely lending form to what already exists; it opens up the way to what could potentially exist, becoming a crucial form of public intelligence, capable of nourishing and enriching a community’s democratic institutions.

Artissima embodies this acrobatic exercise of the imagination, oriented towards possibilities that are not yet visible: the fair is a intense and fast-paced physical encounter with works of art that trains us to rethink the way we see, inhabit and share the present.

Main Section is the section dedicated to internationally renowned galleries, offering collectors and the public a programme of the very highest quality.

Monologue/Dialogue is reserved for emerging galleries and those that take an experimental approach to art, who will b presenting either the works of a single artist or a dialogue between the works of two artists.

New Entries welcomes the most interesting emerging international galleries who have been in business for less than five years and are taking part in the fair for the first time.

Art Editions is the special section dedicated to non-profit spaces and galleries that present editions, prints and multiples by contemporary artists.

Present Future
For the third year, Léon Kruijswijk (performance Curator at Mudam in Luxembourg) and Joel Valabrega (independent curator in Porto and Milan) are the curators of Present Future, the section dedicated to emerging talents hosting monographic projects with the aim of highlighting the new trends shaping the international art scene.

Back to the Future
Jacopo Crivelli Visconti
(director of the Albuquerque Foundation in Sintra) and Heike Munder (director of the F+F School of Art and Design in Zurich and honorary director of the Simose Art Museum in Otake, Hiroshima) have been confirmed for a third year as curators of Back to the Future, the section of Artissima that presents monographic projects by pioneers of contemporary art who, at different times and in different places between the 1930s and the 1990s, had the courage to stand up against what they believed to be wrong.

Disegni (Drawings)
Irina Zucca Alessandrelli (curator of the Ramo Collection in Milan and of Milan Drawing Week) has been confirmed as curator for the fifth year running. This section, dedicated to drawing as a medium of expression, presents projects conceived as solo exhibitions that highlight the authenticity and autonomy of works on paper.

SPECIAL PROJECTS DURING THE FAIR

At Lingotto Fiere – OVAL in Turin, Artissima 2026 will be featuring special projects in collaboration with partners and institutions, with a unique artistic and cultural focus.

Massimo Vitali

Intesa Sanpaolo and Gallerie d’Italia – Turin are presenting a preview at Artissima of the photography exhibition curated by Corrado Benigni and dedicated to Massimo Vitali, one of the most original figures in contemporary Italian photography, renowned worldwide for his series on beaches, which is due to be hosted at the museum in Piazza San Carlo in 2027.

These works bear witness to the artist’s exploration of the places where social interaction and collective rituals take place. They invite us to look at reality in a different light. Behind the apparent banality of the scenes lies the behavioural phenomenology of contemporary society and its changes over time.

“No Future" at Gallerie d'Italia - Turin

The immersive room at Gallerie d’Italia in Piazza San Carlo is hosting the fifth edition of the art film and video exhibition entitled No Future, curated by Alice Motard.

The installation directly and subjectively tells the story of an idea, that of a shared and desirable future that has become hard, if not impossible, to imagine. It brings together 11 films and videos by 11 artists, created between 2000 and 2026. Together, they explore a hypothesis: over the space of half a century, “no future” – a punk slogan from the 1970s – has gone from being an individual rejection of norms to a collective feeling that there is no future.
