Access to the museum

Aspects to consider before and during your visit.

TICKET OFFICE

If you have not already purchased your ticket online, you can buy one at the entrance desk.

LOCKER

All umbrellas and large bags/rucksacks must be left in the lockers, where you can also leave smaller bags/items as wished. This service is free.

SIGNAGE

During your visit, please mind the signs providing the rules to follow when using the stairs, lifts or toilets. The museum staff are always available to help you.

The museum is located at piazza San Carlo, 156.

METRO

Alight at Porta Nuova then 500 metres on foot or by taxi.

BUS

Lines 11, 15, 27, 55, 57, 58, 58/ alight at Bertola and Star alight at Lagrange.

TRAM

Line 4 alight at Bertola.

TRAIN

Piazza San Carlo is 500 metres from Porta Nuova and 1.6 km from Porta Susa.

CAR

Underground car park Roma – San Carlo – Castello. 
Restricted Traffic Zone from 7:30 to 10:30.
The closest taxi ranks are in piazza C.L.N. and via Santa Teresa on the corner of piazza San Carlo.

The Gallerie d'Italia museums offer activities aimed at promoting the culture of accessibility and inclusion, informing as many people as possible about the issue from the perspective of artistic and cultural enjoyment available to all.

App and Guided tours

Visitors can access the museum either on their own, using the physical or virtual audio guide by downloading the Gallerie d'Italia App on their smartphones, or guided by a cultural mediator who will help to discover the permanent collections and the temporary exhibitions.

Catering services are offered at Gallerie d'Italia museum in Turin at the Caffetteria and Bistrot "Caffè San Carlo" and "SCATTO" restaurant, run by the Costardi Bros.

BOOKSHOP

Located on via Santa Teresa and also open to the general public, the bookshop at Gallerie d’Italia - Torino proposes a wide range of art and photography books as well as design objects, and a line of merchandise dedicated to our collections. Visitors can access directly from the museum but the premises have also a free independent entrance from outside. The bookshop is open at the same visit time of the Gallerie.

 

FAQ

All the Gallerie d'Italia museums have a library; currently, a catalogue of the volumes present can be viewed on site at each of the museums. We are working on an online version for users.

Free Wi-Fi (registration required) is available during the museum’s opening hours.

All umbrellas and large bags/rucksacks must be left in the cloakroom, which also takes smaller bags/items as wished. This service is free.

Three changing tables are available at the Gallerie d’Italia in Turin and the museum will do its best to accommodate any requests from families.
