Biography of Paolo Pellegrin

Paolo Pellegrin was born in Rome in 1964. After studying architecture, he focused his interest on photography. After ten years at Agence Vu, he joined Magnum Photos as a nominee in 2001, becoming a full member in 2005. He did contract work for Newsweek for ten years.
 

Artist's Awards and Recognition

Throughout his career, he has received numerous international awards, including the Robert Capa Gold Medal Award. In 2006, he was awarded the W. Eugene Smith Grant in Humanistic Photography.

His photographs have been displayed in numerous museums and galleries, including: La Maison Européenne de La Photographie, Rencontres d'Arles, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Corcoran Gallery of Art, MAXXI in Rome, Aperture Foundation Gallery, Foam Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam, Deichtorhallen in Hamburg and Reggia di Venaria Reale in Turin.
