The Turin Book Fair has been organising the biggest Italian book fair for thirty-six years, bringing together the major publishing groups, independents, the best Italian and foreign writers, booksellers and librarians, agents, translators, illustrators and many readers. “Imaginary Life” is the theme of the 36th edition of the Turin International Book Fair to be held at Lingotto Fiere from 9 to 13 May 2024 with the support of Intesa Sanpaolo in the capacity of Main Partner.

One of the most significant novelties of the 36th edition is the creation of seven sections, alongside the general programme, each dedicated to a theme that is relevant and central to the Fair. The curatorship of the sections is entrusted to writers, intellectuals and artists, who have devised meetings-events on each topic, to be held during the Fair.

The 2024 sections: Art. Film. Publishing. News. Lightness. Romance. Novels.
The community of readers at the Fair will be accompanied on this journey dedicated to writings about art and artworks by Melania Mazzucco, curator of the Art section, who, together with her guests, will talk about how art is enjoyed, how it is promoted, discovered and invented.
The Film section, curated by Francesco Piccolo, one of Italy's most important writers and screenwriters, who will accompany the audience at the Fair to discover what is behind the screens, what happens, how the steps that lead to this process which, when completed, reveals itself to the audience, captivating it, are chosen and what they are.
The Publishing section. Teresa Cremisi, the curator of the Publishing section, will invite emblematic publishers to the Fair and will ask each of them to talk about their vision of publishing, the history of their publishing house and what the daily life of a publisher is like.
The news section. Francesco Costa, curator of the News section, will discuss the changes in the news scenario and their impact on society with some of the most experienced and knowledgeable people in Italian and international journalism.
The Lightness section. Luciana Littizzetto, curator of the Lightness section
The Romance section. Curated by Erin Doom
Exploring human emotions in depth, emphasising the importance of feelings, passions, personal experiences and individual expression: this is the Romance genre.
The Novels section curated by Alessandro Piperno will invite writers to talk about their personal way of reading.

For this 2024 edition, at Piazzale 3 of Lingotto Fiere, during the days of the event, Intesa Sanpaolo will be curating and organising a photographic project, Non solo signorine. Women at work from the 1910s to the 1970s dedicated to the theme of women’s work.
The project is the result of research and curatorship work in collaboration with the Fair's editorial director, Annalena Benini, and Barbara Costa, head of Intesa Sanpaolo's Historical Archive, and will show a selection of 20th century photographs from Intesa Sanpaolo's Publifoto Archive.
