Even this year the international photography festival is due to take place in Cortona, in the heart of Tuscany, from 11 July to 3rd November 2024, once again with Intesa Sanpaolo as Main Partner.

"BODY OF EVIDENCE" is the theme chosen for this 14th edition of Cortona On The Move: the body becomes a Body of Evidence to be viewed and investigated in its many nuances and declinations, through the interpretive approach of photographers from all over the world, selected for this edition of the festival.

For this 2024 edition of Cortona On The Move, our partnership with Intesa Sanpaolo presents the public with a unique and original exhibition, based on a project commissioned by Intesa Sanpaolo’s Gallerie d’Italia to the Cesura photography collective.

Ten interwoven narratives paint an ideal journey of the water cycle by analyzing the different forms in which water manifests itself: from the source to the river mouth, by way of agricultural, industrial and recreational exploitation. Within the framework of the festival, Cronache d’acqua is a journey that reflects on the symbiotic – and often fragile – relationship between Earth and human beings: an intrinsic connection between humanity and the world it inhabits, where the human body is perceived as a guest that interacts more or less consciously with the environment.

JULY 12th at 6.00 pm: Talk "Cronache d’acqua. Immagini dal Nord Italia" with Arianna Arcara, Marco Zanella (photographers), Antonio Carloni (Deputy Director, Gallerie d’Italia-Torino), Paolo Di Paolo (writer).Moderated by Cristina Nadotti (journalist Green&Blue – La Repubblica – Gedi).

The Cortona On The Move festival is the brainchild and product of the ONTHEMOVE Cultural Association and is produced under the patronage of the Regional Administration of Tuscany, the patronage and contribution of the Municipality of Cortona, the support of Intesa Sanpaolo and Gallerie d'Italia - main partners - with the contribution of Fondazione CR Firenze and the support of Autolinee Toscane, Sony - technical partner - and Médecins Sans Frontières - charity partner.

The “highlight” of the event will be, as every year, during the festival's opening days (July 11-14), when the greatest national and international experts from the world of photography will meet in Cortona, participating in events, presentations, talks and workshops, to promote reflection on current events and the past, through photography - one of the tools that can best investigate reality.
