The seventh edition of Archivissima, the first festival dedicated to the promotion and enhancement of archival heritages, will take place in Turin from June 6 to 9, 2024

Launched in 2018 from the previous experience of the format "Notte degli Archivi” (The Night of the Archives)" – conceived in 2016 by Promemoria Group with the intention of publicly returning to citizens the informative and narrative wealth contained in the heritages of historical archives of organizations, institutions, large companies – the Festival will welcome in 2024 the ninth edition of the Night, which will be held on Friday, June 7, and will then conclude on Sunday, June 9, with the International Day of Archives.

Archivissima will take place mainly in the setting of the Turin headquarters of Gallerie d'Italia, which Archivissima audiences attending the events will be able to visit free of charge during opening hours. Some of the meetings hosted in the schedule, in continuity with the synergistic vocation of the event, will be held in collaboration with other cultural entities from Turin and beyond including: Biennale Tecnologia, OGR Torino, Circolo dei Lettori, Pinacoteca Agnelli together with Collezione Maramotti, Mediateca Rai, La Stampa, Museimpresa, Museo Nazionale del Cinema - Festival Cinemambiente, Polo del '900. All appointments, as usual, will be free admission.

The theme of this new edition is Passions: components as stubborn as they are visceral, connected to the vital instinct, survival, and reproduction. Disruptive, kaleidoscopic, totalizing, often destructive, passions have been for centuries the focus of self-assertion and a powerful nexus between individuals, private relationships and public life, an essential engine for the transformation of society. Functions that today seem not only silenced but almost completely vanished, and yet, instead, can be traced within archives, a world made of our worlds, within which passions survive. Indeed, archives give us solid footholds to continue to orient ourselves in an increasingly confused reality: investigating their appeal and the mechanisms by which they spread, decoding passionate attitudes and the way they were read and translated into the world.

Archivissima is the only Italian festival dedicated to the promotion and enhancement of archival heritages. Conceived by Promemoria Group, it is organized by Associazione Archivissima, with Intesa Sanpaolo as Main Partner.

Gallerie d'Italia - Torino host "Il cuore mio non dorme mai. Una e centomila passioni", the immersive digital exhibition that tells the hidden passions of the partner archives of Archivissima.
The exhibition will be open to the public of Archivissima from 7 to 9 June before each meeting and talk organized as part of the festival program.
A selection of photos from the Archivio Publifoto Intesa Sanpaolo are also on display.
