The sixth edition of Archivissima, the first festival dedicated to the promotion and development of archival heritages, is scheduled to take place in Turin from 8 to 11 June 2023.
Launched in 2018 following the previous experience of the “La Notte degli Archivi” format - conceived in 2016 by Promemoria with the aim of publicly returning the informative and narrative wealth contained in archival heritages to the public - in 2023, the Festival will host the eighth edition of the “Notte”, to be held on Friday 9 June in conjunction with International Archives Day throughout the country, with over 150 live events throughout Italy.
Archivissima will be held mainly in the setting of the Gallerie d'Italia - Turin, admission to which is free of charge to visitors to Archivissima during the museum's opening hours. Some of the meetings featured in the programme, in keeping with the event's synergistic vocation, will be held in collaboration with other cultural organisations in and beyond Turin, including: OGR Torino, il Circolo dei Lettori, Pinacoteca Agnelli and Collezione Maramotti, the Rai Media Library, La Stampa, Museo Nazionale del Cinema - Festival Cinemambiente. All the events will, as usual, be free of charge.
The theme of this new edition is Carnet de voyage: a physical and symbolic object, both a diary and a story, a drawing and an image, a cut-out, a sketch with which to note down the meaning of a journey, reconstructing a plot, of time spent in the places visited, through coordinates and destinations to be reached, roads to be travelled and horizons, landings and drifts, mirages and returns.
Archivissima is the only Italian festival dedicated to the promotion and development of archival heritage. Conceived by Promemoria, it is organised by the Archivissima association, with Intesa Sanpaolo as Main Partner.
