A painter of extraordinary narrative sensibility, Giandomenico knew how to portray his era with a perspective that was at once poetic, ironic and profoundly human.
The musical programme takes us into the same European cultural universe. The works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johann Christian Bach – the "London Bach", who had such a great influence on the young Mozart – and Franz Xaver Süssmayer, Mozart's pupil and collaborator, convey the spirit of an era in which elegance, balance and expressive liveliness were shared by all the arts: a musical conversation composed of grace, colours and nuances, not unlike the luminous lightness and chromatic richness that characterise 18th-century painting.
In collaboration with Ensemble Musagéte, as part of the Afternoon Among the Muses 2026-27 season
Date: 25 October 2026
Time: 5:00–6:00 p.m.
Format: Concert
“Young people and early music”
The extraordinary Venetian musical repertoire during the painter's youth, with solo concertos by Vivaldi and those by Telemann, the German composer who, more than any other, took the style of the “Red Priest” as his model. Solo flute, oboe and cello engage in a dialogue with the strings in a magical union. Embodying the young Tiepolo are the talents of the Vicenza Conservatoire and its Department of Early Music. Alongside them is Francesco Galligioni, an established soloist and Baroque cello teacher at the Vicenza Conservatoire.
In collaboration with I Musicali Affetti, as part of the Spazio&Musica 2026 season
Date: 8 November 2026
Time: 17:00–18:00

“The European Enlightenment: from Venice to Mozart's Vienna”
The Venetian musical repertoire in the “mature” part of the painter’s life. Thanks to his long life, Baldassarre Galuppi witnessed the transition from one era to another, and the city that would inherit the great Venetian legacy was none other than the Vienna of the divine Amadeus.
