Rekindling its long-standing partnership with the association Illustri, the Gallerie d’Italia in Vicenza presents an exhibition featuring original works by information designer Giorgia Lupi. Running from 30 April to 2 August 2026, the exhibition focuses on the philosophy of Data Humanism: an approach that aims to bring empathy and the human context into data analysis, recognising that even the most technical datasets are rooted in human actions and decisions.
This strategy encourages the design of communications that consider context, qualitative storytelling and even flaws. Giorgia Lupi has lived in New York for about ten years and has been a partner at Pentagram, where she leads an information design team that explores data as a visual language to tell stories and shape brand missions, since 2019. Her work is featured in the permanent collection of the MOMA and she won the ADI Compasso d’Oro award in 2025. She has also been nominated three times by Wallpaper as one of the 400 most creative people who have shaped America.
A free preview of the exhibition will be open from 6.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. (last admission 8.30 pm)

A conversation that seeks to refocus attention on what numbers often conceal: the complexity of the lives, actions and stories from which every data item originates. Alice Avallone, data humanist and author of Dati sensibili. Il lato umano e profondo dei numeri (Enrico Damiani editore, 2026) talks to Massimiano Bucchi, full professor of Science, Technology and Society at Trento University.

How much do we need language to understand the complexity that surrounds us? And how much is language changing in today's fast-paced world? What language does data speak? These and other questions will be explored with Beatrice Cristalli, a linguist and educator who has been studying the evolution of contemporary languages for years.
She will be joined by Giulia Capodieci, a communication strategist who never gets sick of asking questions.

How do the rigour of numbers and artistic creativity go together?
This is the daily challenge faced by Adriano Attus, designer, artist and creative director at Il Sole 24 Ore. He has always combined numbers and colours in an ongoing quest that has gradually become the hallmark of his artistic work, as well as the pages of the newspaper. Together with Attus, we shall attempt to understand whether numbers can become beauty, meaning and art. He will be joined by Francesco Poroli – curator of the exhibition and artistic director of Illustri.
