POETRY VICENZA 2022 from 14 November to 13 December
THE FESTIVAL: The sea, the travel, floating away
(Voices from other worlds)
Some historic voyages have changed our understanding and the geography of the world. As well as challenging the vastness and mysteriousness of the sea, these journeys have also represented a meeting of very different peoples and cultures. However we look at it, the sea has always been both a symbol of hope and new horizons but also a theatre of inconceivable tragedies. Through various poetic voices from Italy and other countries we will learn about the expectations, the conflicts, the migrations and the challenges of today, similar to those of yesterday. Challenges in a world which, though different to that of Pigafetta, engenders the same emotions, the same sense of tragedy, the same expectations of human beings caught up in the events of history.
