As part of the travelling exhibitions project, the exhibition Eveningside. Gregory Crewdson arrives at Chiostri di San Pietro, Reggio Emilia.
Curated by Jean-Charles Vergne and produced in collaboration with the Intesa Sanpaolo Gallerie d’Italia, the exhibition will be open to visitors starting from October 10, 2026.
The exhibition brings together the photographic trilogy on which the American photographer Crewdson worked for an entire decade in a single narrative journey.
A visual journey that includes the series Cathedral of the Pines (2012-2014), An Eclipse of Moths (2018-2019) and the more recent Eveningside, providing a complete overview of the expressive maturity of one of the masters of contemporary photography.
The exhibition experience will be completed and enriched with the screening of the film Making Eveningside, an important piece of documentary evidence that steps behind the scenes to examine the development and the complex production process that goes into every single shot taken by the photographer.
Originating from a project by Gallerie d'Italia - Turin which ran from October 2022 to January 2023, the collections of photographs were then exhibited at the Rencontres Photographiques d'Arles (2023), at the VB Photography Center in Kuopio (2024), at the Marubi National Museum of Photography (2024) , at the Musée de la Photographie of Charleroi and now at Chiostri di San Pietro, Reggio Emilia, which contributes to the promotion of the work of one of the most influential American photographer.
