The documentary Oltre il confine. Le immagini di Mimmo e Francesco Jodice, is a work in which father and son enter into a deep and intimate exchange on life, art and the sense of visual observation.
Mimmo Jodice, one of the great masters of Italian photography, has been a tireless protagonist of Italian photography since the 1960s and a central figure in making it part of the international scene. Along with him, Francesco Jodice puts together a research that investigates the contemporary social landscape, interweaving art and urban anthropology to offer us a reflection of our cities and our collective contemporary behaviours.
Combining pictures, memories and visions, the documentary invites viewers to look at the reality beyond the threshold of what is visible.

Going beyond what we see in the news, a thought-provoking journey among the rubble and rebirth of Afghanistan, with photographs taken between 2019 and 2023.
Far from a traditional reportage, this book takes the reader on a thought-provoking journey which questions the way that visual representations shape the external perception of a complex country. Tugnoli explores the distance between those who tell the story and those who experience it first-hand in their daily lives, in an attempt to present a picture that goes beyond what we see in the news to touch the human and social changes taking place on a much deeper level.
The author will be signing copies of the book at the end of the event.
