Cronache d'acqua – Immagini dal Centro Italia” (Water Chronicles – Images from Central Italy), a project commissioned by Intesa Sanpaolo's Gallerie d'Italia, is the evolution and completion of previous photographic explorations that began in 2023, travelling from north to south along the entire length of the Italian peninsula.

The new edition features the participation of the “TerraProject” photography collective (with Michele Borzoni, Simone Donati, Pietro Paolini and Rocco Rorandelli) and of photographers Fabio Barile, Simona Ghizzoni and Sara Nicomedi. Each artist brings their own vision and distinctive approach to visual storytelling, with the aim of telling ten stories related to the water cycle, the supply of water and its scarcity, in Central Italy.

In keeping with previous editions, the project addresses the issue by highlighting its impact on people, activities and territories in the heart of the peninsula: from the Apennines to the valleys, crossed by historic rivers and lakes but also marked by drought and the exploitation of resources.

This visual narration not only highlights the richness and fragility of Central Italy's ecosystems but also stimulates in-depth reflection on environmental change and the challenges faced by local communities in a network of lives and stories to be told.

Once again this year, we are renewing our collaboration with Green & Blue, a publication of the Gedi Publishing Group, through the voices of journalists committed to reporting green news from around the world. The aim is to transform these “chronicles” into a manifesto for environmental awareness, promoting a debate that can lead to sustainable solutions for the management of water resources and the protection of our country's natural and cultural heritage.

The event will also be streamed live
