Gallerie d'Italia - Torino, Sala Immersiva
From 18th July to 15th September 2023
Istituto Europeo di Design - IED Torino presents “Il Margine fa la pagina – Immagini dai confini della città” (The Edge creates the page - Images from the outskirts of the city) a project created in partnership with Intesa Sanpaolo’s Gallerie d’Italia - Torino as the second chapter in the three-year programme of investigation of the city of Turin, Bureau Metamorfosi. The project has been curated by Giulia Ticozzi, coordinator of the three-year Photography course at IED Turin, and supervised by Antonio Carloni, Deputy Director of Gallerie d’Italia - Torino, with important contributions from four experts, Maurizio Cilli, Francesca Berardi, Arianna Arcara and Giulietta Fassino, and the guidance of photographer and lecturer Luís Aniceto.
The Institute presents sixteen photographic researches, realised by sixteen students of the three-year Photography course, who investigated scenes of everyday life, the people and stories of those outlying areas of Turin with their multiple suggestions and uncertain borders, not only geographical but also social, anthropological and architectural, from different and unprecedented perspectives. A story in pictures that simultaneously reveals how Gallerie d'Italia - Torino has become a point of reference for the observation of current events and for understanding the transformations of the present through the languages of contemporary art.
The photographic project "Il Margine fa la pagina - Immagini dai confini della città" is open to visitors from 18 July to 15 September at Gallerie d'Italia - Torino in the museum's immersive room in Piazza San Carlo.
