From 5 to 10 April 2023.
With the possibility to take part in the performance on 5 and 6 April
As part of the exhibition “JR. Déplacé∙e∙s”, from 5 to 10 April, Gallerie d'Italia - Torino brings “Inside Out”, the participatory art project conceived by the French artist, to Piazza San Carlo. A ten-year, large-scale initiative that has invaded public spaces all over the world, from the suburbs of Paris to African refugee camps, in over 140 countries, and that has already involved hundreds of thousands of people, all united by the desire to spread a collective message in defence of diversity, civil rights, the environment and equality. In Turin, this will be an opportunity to draw attention to the themes of social fragility and inclusion, reinforcing the contents of the exhibition. The protagonists of this public action will include some of the city's migrant communities.
A van customised by JR will be present in Piazza San Carlo on the corner with Via Santa Teresa, on the 5th and 6th of April. The vehicle, equipped inside with a photographic set, will be used to take portraits of those who want to take part in the performance. The shots will be printed immediately on poster paper and displayed in the museum courtyard and in the area of the square in front of Gallerie d'Italia.
The work will be on display until the 10th of April.
We look forward to your participation on the 5th and 6th of April.
