Gallerie d’Italia openings for the December Holidays, New Year’s Eve, and the First Sunday of the Month: Dates, Hours, and Free Admission

During the month of December and the holiday season, the Gallerie d’Italia offer special openings and opportunities to visit exhibitions and cultural initiatives at their venues in Milan, Naples, Turin, and Vicenza.

All four venues offer free admission on Sunday, December 7, and exceptionally also on Monday, December 8.
Extraordinary openings with standard admission apply on Monday, December 29, and January 5, 2026.
The museums are regularly open on December 26 and January 6, 2026.

Free admissions: December 7, 8 and January 4

On December 7, 2025, and January 4, 2026, as on every first Sunday of the month, admission is free at all Gallerie d’Italia venues, as well as at the Ivan Bruschi House Museum of Antiques in Arezzo and the Galleria di Palazzo degli Alberti in Prato.

Extraordinary free admission is also available on Monday, December 8.

Gallerie d'Italia - Milan: December and January opening hours

The Milan venue will follow its regular opening hours during the holiday period, with the following exceptions:

  • Sunday, December 7 – Free admission, open from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm (last admission at 1:00 pm)

  • Monday, December 8 – Extraordinary free opening from 9:30 am to 7:30 pm (last admission at 6:30 pm)

  • Wednesday, December 24 – Open from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm (last admission at 5:00 pm)

  • Thursday, December 25Closed

  • Friday, December 26 – Open from 9:30 am to 7:30 pm (last admission at 6:30 pm)

  • Monday, December 29 – Extraordinary opening from 9:30 am to 7:30 pm (last admission at 6:30 pm)

  • Wednesday, December 31 – Open from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm (last admission at 5:00 pm)

  • Thursday, January 1, 2026 – Open from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm (last admission at 9:30 pm)

  • Monday, January 5 – Extraordinary opening from 9:30 am to 7:30 pm (last admission at 6:30 pm)

  • Tuesday, January 6 – Open from 9:30 am to 7:30 pm (last admission at 6:30 pm)

The Naples venue will follow its regular opening hours during the holiday period, with the following exceptions:

  • Monday, December 8 – Extraordinary free opening from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm (last admission at 6:00 pm)

  • Wednesday, December 24 – Open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm (last admission at 4:00 pm)

  • Thursday, December 25Closed

  • From December 26, 2025, to January 6, 2026, unless otherwise specified, extended opening hours from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm (last admission at 7:00 pm)

  • Monday, December 29 – Extraordinary opening from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm (last admission at 7:00 pm)

  • Wednesday, December 31 – Open from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm (last admission at 2:00 pm)

  • Thursday, January 1, 2026 – Extended opening hours from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm (last admission at 7:00 pm)

Galleria di Palazzo degli Alberti in Prato

In Prato, the Galleria di Palazzo degli Alberti houses works of great significance for the city, including pieces by Caravaggio, Giovanni Bellini, Filippo Lippi, Puccio di Simone, and several sculptures by Lorenzo Bartolini, a 19th-century artist from Prato. The gallery is open every Sunday with free admission, and during the holiday period special openings are scheduled on the following dates:

Casa Museo dell’Antiquariato Ivan Bruschi in Arezzo

In Arezzo, the Casa Museo dell’Antiquariato Ivan Bruschi, home to the collection of the distinguished antiquarian from Arezzo, will observe the following opening hours during the holiday period:

  • Monday, December 8 – Special opening from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm / 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm (last admission at 5:00 pm)

  • Wednesday, December 24 – Open from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm / 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm (last admission at 4:00 pm)

  • Monday, December 29 – Special opening from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm / 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm (last admission at 5:00 pm)

  • Wednesday, December 31 – Open from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm / 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm (last admission at 4:00 pm)

Also visit the exhibition "Restituzioni 2025" at Palazzo Esposizioni Roma, the concluding exhibition of the 20th Edition of Restituzioni, a programme dedicated to the conservation and enhancement of Italy’s artistic heritage, carried out by Intesa Sanpaolo for over thirty-six years in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture.
