Identity Expression is a multi-voice dialogue that aims to contribute to the reflection on the concept of identity as self-perception and as a result of the changing social and cultural phenomena that “frame” the story of every individual. This is a round table discussion which will offer the audience the chance to glean new points of view and new visions on the topic of LGBTQ+ identities and how they have been and are expressed in art, work, law and the media. But Identity Expression is also an opportunity to embody the new definition of the Museum - ICOM 2022 - as an accessible and inclusive place to promote diversity and sustainability.
Speakers:
Igor Suran – Executive Director of Parks Liberi e Uguali
Simonetta Candela and Ferdinando Poscio – Partner Lawyers at Studio Associato Clifford Chance
Francesca Vecchioni – President of Fondazione Diversity
Giovanni Morale – Deputy Director of Gallerie d’Italia - Milano
Presenter:
Pierpaolo Astolfi – D&I coach and artistic co-director of the MiX Lgbtq+ and Queer Culture International Film Festival
At the end of the round table, it will be possible to take part, free of charge, in the “Rainbow Identities” tour of the permanent collections, an itinerary which, starting from the neoclassical icons depicted by Canova and moving on to the avant-garde movements of the twentieth century, will enable visitors to embark on a real journey of reflection on how art has constructed and deconstructed different imageries over time with respect to affective orientations and gender identities (duration approx. 50 min).
The round table was conceived by Gallerie d'Italia in collaboration with Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and ISPROUD, Intesa Sanpaolo's LGBTQ+ Community.
