Special Project: Words fall lightly. A dialogue between Carrie Mae Weems and leading contemporary authors

This project is conceived and produced in collaboration with the Polaroid Foundation, as part of Intesa Sanpaolo’s partnership with the Salone Internazionale del Libro di Torino. A light journey through words and the photographic lens: during the days of the Book Fair, a set will be installed inside the Oval where conceptual artist and photographer Carrie Mae Weems will engage in dialogue with and capture the faces of the most influential literary voices of the contemporary scene attending the Fair.

Weems will use a 50x60 format Polaroid camera to portray the complexity of each writer, seeking to capture the essence behind their words. A gaze into many gazes. The authors will then be invited to leave a brief reflection on the encounter, weaving together language and image to create a multidimensional work where writing and photography merge and blur.

Un libro tante scuole

"Un libro, tante scuole" (One Book, Many Schools), the shared reading project that engaged over 7,000 students from all over Italy in reading The Body by Stephen King, accompanied by a series of in-person lessons held at the Gallerie d’Italia in Milan, Naples, Turin, and Vicenza, will conclude on Monday, May 19. On stage, in conversation with the students, will be Loredana Lipperini - author of the introduction to the special edition of the novel - alongside the writer Valentina Farinaccio.
