All holders of a miart 2026 entrance qualification will be able to access the Gallerie d'Italia - Milano for free during the fair days (17-19 April).

Intesa Sanpaolo renews its support in the role of main partner to miart, a long-standing link which bears witness to the Group’s constant cultural support of the territory, with the aim of consolidating Milan’s centrality in the national and international modern and contemporary art world and offering the city an additional boost to economic, cultural and civic growth and development.

The Bank will contribute to the 2026 edition with the original project of outstanding artistic value, “Ryman / Schifano, Standard / Variations. 1960–1970: controlled improvisations from modal to monochrome” curated by Nicola Ricciardi, artistic director of miartdedicated this to showcasing of a selection of masterpieces by Robert Ryman and Mario Schifano from the Luigi and Peppino Agrati Collection, a prestigious collection of contemporary art which is now part of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group's artistic heritage thanks to the legacy of Cavalier Luigi Agrati, in the Group's lounge area and in the vault of the Gallerie d'Italia in Piazza della Scala in Milan.

The vault of the Gallerie d’Italia will be open to the public by appointment during the art fair and will be hosting an exceptional exhibition of ten works by the two artists selected from the Luigi and Peppino Agrati Collection. The project envisages an ideal continuation at the Gallerie d’Italia, where visitors can admire Robert Ryman’s monumental Surface Veil IV in the Salone Manzoni.

The installation will form an evocative contrast to two other masterpieces on display at the fair: the monochromes Winsor 20 (1966) by Robert Ryman and Analogo (1961) by Mario Schifano.

The dual initiative proposed for miart 2026 – the theme of which is inspired by the jazz of Miles Davis and John Coltrane, marking the centenary of Coltrane's birth – is Intesa Sanpaolo and Gallerie d’Italia’s tribute to Ryman and Schifano, two great artists, both lovers of music, who share a balance between rigour and improvisation reminiscent of modal jazz, although they belong to different artistic movements, one close to American minimalism, the other to Pop Art and European post-informalism.
