BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY
The theme of the 2026 edition is “Beautiful Country”, a curatorial project conceived by Renata Ferri which invites visitors to reflect on the contemporary perspective and the relationship between image, memory and identity.
The festival aims to offer an in-depth look at Italy over the past few decades: an open visual atlas in which photography becomes a tool for critical and poetic exploration. Italian and international artists engage with each other in a context that combines the spirit of the Grand Tour with the depth of contemporary investigation.
The programme consists of over thirty exhibitions — including solo and collective shows, generational comparisons, new projects and commissions.
Special Project: PENINSULA
This exhibition project is a special photographic commission conceived by the new director, Renata Ferri, in partnership with Intesa Sanpaolo, Gallerie d’Italia and Fondazione CR Firenze, involving ten artists who engage with the physical and symbolic territories of the contemporary landscape. The exhibition will be held at the Fortezza del Girifalco.
