From 3 March to 3 May 2026, the Carlo Maria Martini Diocesan Museum in Milan, sponsored by Intesa Sanpaolo, presents the exhibition project “NON DIMENTICARTI. L’esperienza di Sacra Famiglia e la cura dell’Alzheimer”.
The core of the exhibition is represented by photographs by Marianna Sambiase, an educator at the Sacra Famiglia Alzheimer's Centre, whose work blossoms from a relationship of everyday care and captures moments from a world that is often ignored, showing how “beyond the pain and suffering, these people also feel a lot of love and, often, genuine enjoyment”.
The Foundation's story will then be told through photographs taken by Enrico Zuppi in 1946, taking us way back to a time marked by the wounds of war.
Lastly, the perspective of the recently deceased Gianni Berengo Gardin, who, in 2011, delicately captured gestures and smiles that highlight the special atmosphere that can still be felt today at Sacra Famiglia. A project that, when the exhibition at the Diocesan Museum ends, will turn it into a travelling exhibition, is currently being finalised. The arrangement could be replicated in various other dioceses, in some of the 20 Sacra Famiglia premises located in Lombardy, Piedmont and Liguria.
