WHERE

Firenze

Palazzo Strozzi

Museo di San Marco

WHEN

From 26 September 2025 to 25 January 2026

The exhibition in Florence celebrates one of the fathers of Renaissance art, in a journey between the  two venues of Palazzo Strozzi and the Museo di San Marco, which focuses on the production, development and influence of the art of Beato Angelico, alongside painters such as Masaccio, Filippo Lippi and Lorenzo Monaco, as well as sculptors such as Lorenzo Ghiberti, Michelozzo and Luca della Robbia.

This is an opportunity to restore exceptional masterpieces and bring together for the first time the works of one of the greatest masters of Italian art of all time, which has previously been dispersed for over two hundred years. The exhibition offers an unrepeatable group of works, with loans from the world’s most important museums and institutions, such as the Louvre in Paris, the Gemäldegalerie in Berlin, New York’s Metropolitan Museum, the National Gallery in Washington, the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Famous for an artistic language which, setting out from his Gothic heritage, uses the principles of the nascent Renaissance art, Beato Angelico (c. 1395 - 1455) created works that are famous for his masterful use of perspective and light in the relationship between figuration and space. The exhibition will make it possible to explore the absolute quality of this artist like never before, revealing the capacity for artistic innovation in relation to a profound religious sense, based on a meditation on the sacred in connection with the human.
