The ninth edition of Archivissima, the first festival dedicated to the promotion and development of archival heritages, is scheduled to take place in Turin from 4 to 7 June 2026.
Launched in 2018 following the previous experience of “La Notte degli Archivi” - conceived in 2016 by Promemoria Group with the aim of publicly returning the wealth of information and narrative contained in the historical archives of organisations, institutions and large companies to the general public - the Festival will be celebrating the tenth anniversary of its most important format in 2026, hosting the eleventh edition of “La Notte” (Friday 5 June). Intesa Sanpaolo is the Main Partner of Archivissima with Gallerie d’Italia – Turin.
The theme of this new edition is Quello che non c’è (What Is Not There): a sweeping expression used in reference to the immense hidden cultural heritage, both that which has been preserved but awaits exploration and that in which the essence of things is yet to be revealed. Extending further, it refers also to the archival heritage that has not been preserved, be that because it has been denied, censored or removed, because it has been neglected, or simply because it is ineffable, much like the intangible nature that often characterises cultural objects. A whole world of relationships and documents to be reconstructed, narrated or reinvented from scratch, as happens every time a new piece is added to the puzzle of our knowledge.
